SSH is an open protocol with many implementations. While Mac OS X and Linux come with integrated ssh software, on Windows one of several add-on solutions must be installed. Here is a brief and non-exhaustive list.

PuTTY Suite

SSH Tectia Client

SSH Communications Security offers a large suite of ssh-related applications. End users typically use the client part.


SftpDrive

Sftpdrive.png

SftpDrive, as the name implies, is not a terminal application but rather one for file transfer.

  • Commercial app (approx. $40)
  • Direct Explorer integration – maps remote directory to a drive letter.
  • Sister product of ExpandDrive for Mac OS X.
