View, add, and delete events from iCal on the Mac
If you use a Mac, you probably want to have full read and write access to your calendar from iCal, the standard Mac calendar application. Instructions for doing this using CalDAV, a protocol for calendar synchronization, are provided on the Zimbra CalDAV wiki page.

View, add, and delete events from your iPhone
If you have an iPhone, and you want to have full read and write access to your calendar from it, your best bet is to use Option 3 from the MCS IT Wiki page on iPhone configuration.
In my case I have turned off Mail and Contacts synchronization and only use this for Calendar synchronization (because I have all my mail redirected to Google's gmail, and I do all my contact synchronization through Apple's Mobile Me):
Also, I have selected my Zimbra public calendar as the default calendar for events on my iPhone:

How anyone can view the public calendar from their Google Calendar web interface
If you want to let someone view your public calendar from their web-based Google Calendar view, you first need to know the public URL of your public calendar (don't use the version that ends in .html). When they use their web browser to go to http://calendar.google.com, they should look at Other Calendars near the bottom left, select Add, and Add by URL:
Now they should enter the public URL for your public calendar; again, don't add the .html
on the end (unfortunately the full string doesn't fit in this view, but again it is http://zimbra.anl.gov/home/[email protected]/CJpublicANLl
):
They may also want to change the name of the calendar to something better than the default, which they can do in the Settings for their Other Calendars:
Your Zimbra public calendar will now show up as one of their Google calendars. However, be warned! Google seems to only refresh this information once per day, as noted in discussions here and here, so their view of your calendar could be as much as 24 hours out of date in this view.
How anyone can view the public calendar from iCal
If you want to let someone view your public calendar from iCal on the Mac, one way to set this up is as follows:
- Tell them to {#How anyone can view the public calendar from their Google Calendar web interface | add your public calendar to their list of Google calendars] as described above.
- In iCal, make sure that the public calendar is checked among their "delegates."
How anyone can view the public calendar from their iPhone
If you want to let someone view your public calendar from their iPhone, they first need to know the public URL of your public calendar. On their iPhone, they should go to Settings, then Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and then Add Account...
They then select Other, and Add Subscribed Calendar. They can then add the public URL for your public calendar, such as <ode>http://zimbra.anl.gov/home/[email protected]/CJpublicANL (that is, without the .html
at the end):

By the way, if they want to turn on and off the display of particular calendars on their iPhone, they can go to the Calendar app, select Calendars at the upper left, and select what calendars are shown:

How to make your public Zimbra calendar viewable within a web page
To make your public Zimbra calendar viewable within a web page, just insert into the web page a link to the public URL of your public calendar (and this time you do use the version ending in .html)
