General Info

22Mg beam with an energy of about 51 MeV and deliver it to the Split-Pole Spectrograph beam line with a minimum intensity of 1×103 22Mg/s and purity of 20% or more.

Secondary Beam

  • 22MgXXX+
  • Energy: XXX MeV/u
  • Requested rate and purity: Xx10X pps, >XX %
  • Achieved rate (pps/pnA):
    • [July 19]
      • XXX
  • Purity:
    • [June 19]
      • XXX

Tuning Info

Primary Beam (energy) [max pnA]:

  • 20NeXXX+ [5 MeV/u, 100 MeV][10 pnA]

Target:

  • 3He Gas w/ 1.9 mg/cm2 HAVAR windows (3.7 cm, 1400 mbarr, T=90K)

  • Expected calculated rates for tuning (acceptable - ideal):
    • At EXIT Detector: >5000-10000 pps/pnA (midplane slits set to ~+-4 mm, ~3% momentum acceptance).
    • At HELIOS Cross Detector: >1000-2000 pps/pnA (assumes ~20% transmission, maybe on the high side...)
